The Lighthouse Artcenter Gallery & School of Art is a beautiful place to spend some time improving your skills, as well as expanding your knowledge about other cultures. The art center is a not-for-profit.

Gallery Gift Shop.

The Artcenter, founded by Eight Artists and Christopher Norton. The son of Ralph and Elizabeth Norton, the founders of the fantastic Norton Museum of Art. The center has multiple galleries, a School of Art with a convenient Art Supply Store.

You will find the Gallery Gift Shop is filled with unique handcrafted jewelry, clothing, accessories, and home décor items. The Gallery invites local artisans to submit examples of their work for placement on a wholesale or consignment basis in the Gallery Gift Shop.

Summer ArtCamp

The Lighthouse Artcenter offers phenomenal programs for Adults and kids alike, such as the Summer ArtCamp that will run from June to August. With the ArtCamp program, children aged 6 to 12 will be divided accordingly into groups by age, never the less there will be no more than 15 students in each class. Each day, the children will spend time in 4 different classrooms, gathering experiences in art, sculpture, ceramics, and the Gallery.  Participants will bring home their personally crafted artwork for you to treasure on Fridays.

Hours of Summer ArtCamp

I would not expect a popsicle birdcage from your budding artist from this enriching day camp, which has been a staple of summer fun for 49 years. Drop off is at 8:45–9 am, and pick up is at 3:30 pm. Before and aftercare is ordinarily available; see site for fees. There are different programs to choose from for the individual weeks, and the cost per child is $280. Adults that are desiring to improve their art skills. Or to explore what undiscovered talents they might find within themselves. The Artcenter has an expansive offering of classes, including; ceramics, drawing, jewelry, open studios, contemporary oil painting (brush and palette knife), pastels, and a course in sculpture. Prices vary per class. Call the center or check the website for more information on types of classes.

Gallery Tours

Group Tours are 45 minutes long and led by a docent. Groups larger than 20 people will be divided into two groups to view the exhibits better. The Art Center is handicapped accessible, and handicapped-accessible restrooms are available. Bus parking is available in designated areas.

Exhibits

You are calling all Fine Artists! You’re all invited to contact the center about displaying your work. If accepted, your job is displayed alongside primitive, tribal, American, Japanese, black, grey, and contemporary art. Learn more about this incredible opportunity for exposure to your unique style. The Lighthouse ArtCenter is in Phase II of its campaign to expand. Plans include expanding and upgrading the Gallery. To add more classes, events, expand course offerings, utilize new technologies in learning and programs, including art therapy for veterans.
